Well the sky has obliged again this week and provided me with another view. As the sun was rising over Lake Michigan it went behind the clouds but there were a couple of little splits in the clouds and that was enough to let the rays through which then, in turn, reflected on the partially frozen lake.

I'm not quite sure what it is, but Lake Michigan has such a distinctive look. It's similar to Lake Okeechobee in that it looks like a sea looking out on it, but of course Lake M is much deeper than Lake o (12 ft deep at deepest point).

Louise - Thanks, although I can never quite get the colours to translate into the photo quite as well as I would like.
Lily Hydrangea - The lake is partially frozen, because it is such a huge body of water the wind actually blows the ice around so sometimes there will be no ice at the shore but plenty further out.
Catherine - It was the unusual spilt in the clouds that caught my eye then as the sun moved up it caused the reflections which were a bonus!

Robert V Sobczak - It certainly looks like a sea, especially because you can't see the other shores and it certainly whips up some big waves sometimes. The only thing that really gives it away is the lack of smell that is so distinctive to the sea.
