SKYWATCH FRIDAY (Gotham City)

Last night there was an interesting combination of clouds over the city. Light swirls on top that were reflecting the colours of the sunset and then dark horizontal slashes below them.

They looked quite dramatic in their own right but when you add the city skyline in dark silhouette it is even more striking.

When I see the city like this I understand why it is always used as the location for Gotham City!

For great skywatch postings from all over the world check out this site.

It really changes the feel of the photo when you zoom out and include the city Skyline. I had no idea that was the city they use for Gotham City! Stay safe!

I agree. The city skyline just makes these photos.

Lovely scenes for SkyWatch! This is Chicago, right? I once went up to the top of the John Hancock Bldg......I think I see it there. Greetings from Iowa.

Very dramatic photos!
We live in the mountains of New Mexico and haven't been to a big city for years. The highest building we have around here...are barns! lol!

Thanks for sharing your beautiful skies...and skyline, too.

Oh! And I stumbled over here from another blog where I saw your comment about liking llamas.

We have two llamas, and if you'd like to see a video of just how special they are you might want to visit my blog and see my "Double Trouble" post. It's really cute and I think you will smile :)

Migs cfl fan - It was the whispy pink clouds that first caught my eye and made me start taking pictures and it just went on from there - you know how it goes :)

Kathiesbirds - Yes they always use Chicago for the Batman movies. The favorite location is an underground road called Wacker Drive which they always use for car chase scenes!

Louise - Thanks, glad you liked them. Your sunset shots were spectacular.

April - Thanks for dropping by :)

Lilli %amp nevada - We seem to have been having some very colourful sunsets recently.

Daily snapshot - I don't usually include the city as I am not a big fan of man made structures but I thought in this instance it seemed to work.

Sara Chapman - Thanks Sara :) And thanks for looking at my other posts too.

Bobbie in Hawaii - Glad you liked them Bobbie, thanks for dropping by.

Arija - More lights gradually got switched on over the period of time I was taking the pictures and I liked the effect that they added.

The 7msn - Glad you could visit, your blog made me smile - I will definitely be back.

Laura peach - Thanks, Happy SWF :)

Vincibene - Thank you, glad you liked them.

Rambling Woods - Thanks Michelle, have a great week :)

Jeannelle - Yes it is Chicago and the Hancock Building is the tallest, darkest building in the picture. It has an amazing viewing floor on the 92nd level.

Laughing Orca Ranch - Thanks for dropping by, you have a great blog and I shall definitely be visiting again :)
