A friend and regular reader from Cornwall has just sent me an exciting update on the continued reappearance of Choughs along the Cornish coastline, which I had posted about recently. Here is how it was covered in the local news -

Conservationists are celebrating today as a new nest site has successfully produced a brood of wild chough chicks in the far West of Cornwall – the first in nearly 150 years. Partners of the Cornish Chough Project are heralding this as a significant chapter in the natural re-colonisation of Cornwall’s iconic bird.
To add to this success story, for the seventh year in succession, the Lizard choughs (the ones I had the pleasure of seeing on my recent visit and posted here in June) have successfully raised a brood of four chicks and this year they are all females.
